IE Alumni coordinate and support extracurricular activities which take place at IE and which contribute so greatly to the IE experience. Some of these clubs and activities are the following:

  • Academic Clubs (Including the Entrepreneurs’ Club, Finance Club, Women in Business, IE Net Impact, and ieOut and the Innovation and Technology Clubetc.)
  • Sports Clubs (Including the IE Football League, the Basketball Club, Tennis Club, and the Sailing Club etc.)

In May, IE’s Net Impact and Corporate Responsibility club hosted the annual Global Village event, celebrating the vast and varied cultures and nationalities represented on IE’s campus.

In recognition of this seventh edition of Global Village, María Quesada, Director of the Student Office, was interviewed in Europa Press where she described this year’s event as “was one of the best ever.”

Extra-Curricular Activities at IE Business School

Written on May 24, 2011 by MIM Blog in News

At IE Business School we give our students the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities. Once your place reservation has been received, you will be granted access to the Student Office and all the different clubs that we have.

There are more than 60 clubs at IE including academic, regional, sports, and affinity clubs. A few of the most popular are: Finance, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Football, Basketball, Skiing, Gourmet, Wine Tasting, Salsa, Japan, Mexico, Italian and Net Impact Club.

Students get together and organize fun activities within their clubs and use the opportunity to meet new people, network and enrich their CVs with leadership and other extra-curricular achievements.

If you are interested in a very specific club that is not listed, you can make a proposal and create your own club and invite other students to join. This would be an invaluable opportunity to demonstrate your leadership and determination.

IE Business School Participates in Spring Games

Written on April 12, 2011 by MIM Blog in News

Every year IE Business School participates in the Spring Games Competition organized by IESE Business School in Barcelona. This is an annual sports festival where top business schools participate and compete in a variety of sports. This year the event took place from the 25th to the 27th of March, 2011.

An online group was created to plan the event and organize accommodation, transportation etc. Two buses took the IE team to Barcelona. The first day we attended the Inaugural Party, where we met students from schools such as LBS, INSEAD, ESADE, EADA, Oxford, and the IE Salsa Team participated in the Salsa Competition.

The sporting event started the next morning at the Barcelona Olympic stadium. IE participated in all the events – we performed well winning the following trophies.

1st prize:  Women’s football, Women’s Swimming, Men’s Swimming, Men’s rugby,
Ultimate Frisbee, Badminton
2nd prize: Men’s tennis, Chess
3rd prize: Men’s Football
In Badminton IE won 4 out of the 5 trophies.

In addition to competing in all events, we were also able to explore the city and it’s nightlife.
